We are honoured to have Kay Wilson make a guest appearance at next Wednesday's training session at the club.
Kay started her career wearing the No.10 shirt but now plays anywhere in the back three these days. Having bagged 36 caps so far in the XVs version of the game and a sack full of sevens’ appearances, Kay is one of the ‘gas women’. She lifted the World Cup in 2014, scoring two tries against Samoa and one against both Spain and then Ireland in the semi-final. On top of the winners’ medal, she secured a full-time contract with the England Sevens squad.
She was chosen in the 12-strong British Women’s Sevens squad for two invitational tournaments in March this year in Las Vegas and Vancouver as part of the preparations for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Educated at St Bede’s and University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, she was originally from Caterham and now plays for Thurrock T-Birds after two seasons with Richmond and Bristol. Kay began playing at the age of five and was with Warlingham in her formative years.
